IV. GETTING STARTED
4.1- Unpacking
• Remove the product from packaging
• Check if the product and accessories (if any) are intact.
4.2- Assembly
WARNING!
Before starting assembly or changing accessories, turn it off and disconnect from mains
power source.
Connecting the discharge hose
• Screw the hose adaptor (6) provided onto the pump outlet elbow.
• When using occasionally, select a water hose with a diameter of either
1 inch or 1½ inches. You may need to trim the end of the hose
connector to fit the specific hose being used. Refer to Fig. 2 for
guidance.
• Secure the hose to the hose adaptor with a hose clamp (not supplied).
• When installing permanently with rigid pipes, it is recommended to
install a non-return valve (not provided). This prevents fluid from
flowing back when the pump is turned off.
• All threaded connections must be sealed with Teflon sealing tape (not
supplied).
Adjusting the float switch (4)
• The float switch enables the pump to switch off automatically when the water has reached
the minimum level.
• The float switch can be set to a specific cut-off level by increasing or decreasing the length
of cable between the cable clamp (2) and float switch.
Placement
• The pump needs a space of at least 60 x 60 cm (the float switch (4) must be able to move
freely so that it functions properly.
• The pump can be submerged up to a depth of 7 metres under water.
• Ensure the pump is positioned upright on a stable, level surface, free from loose stones or
other objects that may inadvertently be drawn into the pump.
• Utilize a rope to lower or raise the pump, ensuring it is securely fastened to the carrying
handle (1).
• NOTE: Avoid lifting the pump using the power cable (5) or discharge hose as they are not
designed to withstand the tensile stress caused by the weight of the pump.
• Immerse the pump at an angle into water, ensuring no air pockets form underneath the
pump to prevent suction. Once submerged, the pump can be leveled again.
• When pumping water from a sandy or muddy floor bed, you can suspend the pump using a
rope attached to the handle. Never use any of the electrical cables for this purpose.
