Switching the dimmer setting
To prevent the display from being too bright at
night, the display is automatically dimmed
when the cars headlights are turned on. You
can turn the dimmer on or off.

Press FUNCTION to select Dimmer.
Press FUNCTION repeatedly until Dimmer ap-
pears in the display.

Press a or b to turn Dimmer on or off.
Pressing a or b will turn Dimmer on or off
and that status will be displayed (e.g.,
Dimmer ON).
Adjusting the brightness
Display brightness adjustment lets you adjust
the display for easier viewing when lighting
conditions change.

Press FUNCTION to select Brightness.
Press FUNCTION repeatedly until Brightness
appears in the display.

Press c or d to adjust the brightness
level.
Each press of c or d increases or decreases
the brightness level. 00 31 is displayed as
the level is increased or decreased.
Correcting distorted sound
When listening to a CD or other source on
which the recording level is high, setting the
equalizer curve level to high may result in dis-
tortion. You can switch the digital attenuator
to low to reduce distortion.
! Sound quality is better at the high setting
so this setting is usually used.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until Digital ATT
appears in the display.

Press c or d to switch Digital ATT high
or low.
Pressing c or d will switch between High
(high) and Low (low) and that status will be
displayed.
Switching the sound
muting/attenuation
Sound from this system is muted or attenu-
ated automatically when a call is made or re-
ceived using a cellular telephone connected to
this unit.
! The sound is turned off, MUTE or ATT is
displayed and no audio adjustment is pos-
sible.
! Operation returns to normal when the
phone connection is ended.

Press FUNCTION to select Mute.
Press FUNCTION repeatedly until Mute ap-
pears in the display.

Press c or d to select the desired set-
ting.
Each press of c or d selects settings in the
following order:
TEL mute (muting) 10dB ATT (attenuation)
20dB ATT (attenuation)
20dB ATT has a stronger effect than
10dB ATT.
