8.1 Modes
The toothbrush 5 has 2 different modes:
- Normal mode:
When switching on with the on/off
switch 10 the toothbrush starts with
normal mode for cleaning teeth with
high pulsation.
- Sensitive mode:
By pressing the on/off switch
again, the toothbrush switches to the
Sensitive mode (gentle brushing) for
cleaning teeth with sensitive gums.
NOTE: if you are not used to using an elec-
tric toothbrush and you have comparatively
sensitive gums, you can use this mode for
the first 1 to 2 weeks, and then switch to nor-
mal mode later.
8.2 Brushing teeth
1. Remove the toothbrush 5 from the bat-
tery charger 8.
2. Moisten the bristles, squeeze some
toothpaste on and switch on the tooth-
brush 5 only when the brush head 1 is
already in your mouth.
3. Press the on/off switch
start the toothbrush in Normal mode.
4. Press the on/off switch
switch the toothbrush to Sensitive mode.
5. Slowly guide the brush head 1 from
tooth to tooth without exerting too much
pressure. Carefully clean all tooth sur-
faces, the inner surfaces of the teeth
and the tooth edges.

cates these intervals with 2 brief inter-

We recommend that you replace the
toothbrush heads 2 every 3 months or
after infections (see "Ordering tooth-
brush heads" on page 9).

Switching on the transport lock:
Press the on/off switch
charging indicator light 11 flashes red
once.
If you try to switch on the toothbrush 5
with the transport lock activated, the
charging indicator light 11 will flash
red once.
Press the on/off switch
until the toothbrush 5 is switched on and
the charging indicator light 11 flashes
red once. Change the mode if required
by pressing the on/off switch
again.
