WARNING!
Risk of personal injuries.
Before installing the unit, ensure that the input power supply to Fan Start/Stop Device is off for at
least 5 minutes.
NOTE!
All installation material not included in the initial delivery must be approved of according
to local regulations.
4.1
Overview
See figure 3, which shows a Nederman exhaust extraction system MagnaTrack with a start/stop
device:
1.
Fan starter.
2.
Receiver with internal antenna.
3.
Nederman NCF fan.
4.2
Installation of the receiver
Install the receiver in the middle of the room and as high as possible for good reception, see
figure 3. To obtain maximum range, the receiver must be mounted in an unscreened position clear
of metallic objects and away from any cables carrying high current. See figures 3 and 4.
NOTE!
Do not install the receiver, which contains an internal antenna, in a screened location such
as a metal box that would interfere with the transmission signal.
4.3
Installation of the transmitter
Connect the transmitter to the vehicle ignition system so that the transmitter starts when the
vehicle starts. Mount the transmitter in the driver's compartment, for example, on the dashboard.
See figures 2 and 4.
The power supply is 12/24 V DC. The red wire is positive (+), and the black wire is negative (-).
4.4
Wiring diagram
See figures 5 to 8 for information about how to connect: the fan contactor, motor protector,
transformer, old and new systems, and fan inverter:
5. Fan contacter
6. Two fan contactors
7. Damper control
8. Fan inverters
NOTE!
A network power switch is recommended for the electrical system including the fan.
4.4.1
Connecting new and old systems
For information about how to connect a new receiver with a receiver manufactured before April,
2013, see 'Appendix A: Connecting old (Gen 1 and Gen 2) and new (Gen 3) systems'.
4.5
Program the receiver
Program the receiver to find only one transmitter. Additional transmitters will be automatically
linked to the system. To link transmitters to the receiver, see section 3.2 'Main components',
figures 1 and 2, and follow the procedure below:
1.
Connect the power supply to only one transmitter that is to be linked to the receiver. All other
transmitters must be switched off. See figure 1. Power LEDs (item 2), LED 8 (item 6) and
LED 10 (item 7) are lit.
NOTE!
If power to the transmitter is less than 6V, its LED will be lit (red). The power is
weak, but the transmitter can still send a signal to the receiver as long as the power is greater
than 5V.
2.
Press button F once. Power LEDs (item 2) and programming LED 7 (item 8) are lit.
