CAUTIONS
Lay the bus wires (L1 - L2) at a suitable distance
from the power lines (more than 10cm).
Refer to telephone installation regulations if the use
of common conduits cannot be avoided (with a
metallic partition).
Avoid laying door unit bus wires in the same
conduits with apartment station bus wires.
Avoid arranging door unit bus wires leading to
different couplers in the same conduit.
Extension limit of the system.
The sum of all bus sections on main stations side
must be less than 800m.
The sum of all bus sections on door phones side of
a coupler must be less than 800m.
USABLE WIRES
Wire Ref. 1074/90 must be used for connecting
the devices to the column ensuring video signal
transmission to maximum distance with maximum
quality; characteristics of the wire are:
• Multipolar wire consisting of two twisted pairs in
external PVC sheath; one pair is used to connect
L1, L2 (white, light blue 0.75mm
used to connect the VP video (red, black 1mm
• Video pair impedance: 100Ohm.
Other types of wires may be used but this will
restrict the maximum distances and the number of
monitors which can be connected (see following
sections).
A AWG22 telephone pair wire must be used
for connecting the video signal (a, b) between the
devices on "street side" and the VOP video power
unit (cameras, relay boxes, column distributors).
No wires in the system may be arranged close
to power lines (110V~, 230V~, 380V~).

Wires with cross-section area of 0.5 mm
larger must comply with IEC 60332-1-2; wires
with cross section area smaller than 0.5 mm
must comply with IEC 60332-2-2.
The end of a stranded conductor must not be
consolidated with mild soldering in the points
in which the conductor is subject to contact
pressure.
Sections shown in table refer also to the use
of transformer Ref. 9000/230 (for wires ~0 and
~12).
Loose wires with a cross-section area of
at least 0.2mm

10m may be used with Video Distributor
Ref. 1074/54 to connect the extension bracket
to the distributor.
In this case, the maximum distance is reduced
from 200m to 160m in columns with Artico
monitor.
