Chapter 2 - Camera
Camera operation
2.2.8 - Description of operational settings
2.2.8.1 - Main functions
• ABL: (Automatic Black Level). Placing in or out of service of the automated device
used to align the darkest part of the image on the black level. This device provides
maximum image contrast, which is useful, for example, when shooting in fog.
• ASPECT RATIO: Selection of 4/3 or 16/9 aspect ratio.
NOTE: The camera has different black and white balance memories for the 4/3 and 16/9
aspect ratios.
• CLEAR SCAN: Clear scan on-off. The clear scan is used to obtain quasi-linear
exposure time variation (see CL SC SPEED).
• CL SC SPEED: Choice of exposure time to obtain a uniformly exposed picture when
shooting images from a monitor not synchronised with to the camera, for example
information processing images. To select the exposure time, vary the clear scan speed
so as to obtain a stable picture in the viewfinder. The times proposed range from
approximately 1/50.3 Hz to 1/200 Hz and depend on the type of CCD sensor fitted to
the camera.
• COLOR TEMP: Indicates the colour temperature stored in the white balance memory.
The operator can modify this temperature to make the picture "hotter" or "colder".
• DETAIL LEVEL: Used to alter the picture detail level setting.
• DFZ: (Detail Follow Zoom). Switching in or out of the automated device used to slave
the picture detail level to the F/stop. For example, this device can be used to decrease
detail in the "Telelens" position so as to obtain a "softer" picture.
• DFZ TELE WIDE: Contour level adjustment in the "Telelens" or "WIDE ANGLE"
position, depending on the display. "TELE"/"WIDE" switching is made at zoom mid
travel.
NOTE: DFZ should be "ON" and the lens should send an indication of the zoom position
to the camera.
