Chapter 2 - Camera
Camera operation
2.2.2 - General
Mainly, the camera is operated by means of the displays superimposed on the viewfinder
picture. On the camera, the gain (4), bar pattern (2), test signal (2) and balance (3 and 6)
controls are directly accessible.
On operator's request (control "F+, F-") (1), "FUNCTIONS" menus offer various opera-
tional settings displayed in the viewfinder.
The content of these menus depends:
1. On the selected operating mode ("BASIC" or "CUSTOM").
2. On the position of "SAVE-ON" switch (5). The "SAVE" position is used for
preparation of the camera and the "ON" position for camera operation.
On operator demand, "STATUS" displays can also be displayed in the viewfinder. These
provide information concerning the camera configuration. Refer to 2.2.9 - "Status indica-
tions" paragraph.
2.2.2.1 - Status display
To obtain the status display, press "PICT" switch (2) if the camera is on image. The display
is cleared either by pressing the "return" button on the lens again, or after a period of a few
seconds (maintenance setting).
