CENTRIFUGAL ELECTRIC PUMP INOX SERIES
10. PROBLEM SOLVING
PROBLEMS
POSSIBLE REASONS
Engine won't start
1. No power.
2. Pump phase is lost. 3.
3. Voltage overload.
4. Capacitor damaged.
5. Connection error.
6. Damaged motor.
Insufficient flow
1. Operating pressure too high.
2. Clogged inlet.
3. Impeller wear.
4. Possible air gap in pump casing.
The electric pump
1. Circuit breaker disconnected or fuse blown.
stops suddenly.
2. Clogged impeller.
3. Stator winding burnt out.
Stator winding burnt out
1. The electric pump runs too long with an
incorrect phase.
2. Winding rotation short-circuit or short-circuit
between phases due to broken mechanical seal.
3. Clogged impeller.
4. Electrical pump starts and stops frequently.
5. Electric pump runs on overload.
Pump runs but does not
1. Suction is blocked.
pump out water
2. Foot valve or check valve is closed.
3. Constriction in the suction line.
4. Air in the pump or in the suction line.
When the power is
1. Narrowing in the suction pipe..
cut off, the pump runs
2. Failure of foot valve or check valve.
backwards.
3. Expired foot valve.
4. Bubble in suction line.
Pump makes noise and
1. Narrowing in the suction line.
vibrates
2. Suction pipe is small or blocked.
3. Air in pump or suction pipe.
4. Ratio between device head and pump head
too low.
5. Wear of mechanical parts.
