PRODUCT SAFETY:
General Advice for use of NJ Phillips Injectors and
Injector Drenchers.
When using this product, basic safety precautions
should always be followed. Please read these
warnings before use. Keep these instructions in a
safe place for future reference.
WARNINGS:
1. This injector is designed to inject animals. The operator must take care to avoid
contaminating themselves with the product being used or causing themselves
needle-stick injuries or self-injection.
2. It is essential that the operator reads and follows the directions of safety
instructions on the label of the product being applied. The operator is at risk of
injuring themselves, other people, or the animals being treated if the product they
are applying is not handled safely and used correctly.
3. The owner of this applicator must ensure that the operator is trained in its correct
use. The operator is at risk of injuring themselves, other people, or the animals
being treated if the applicator is not used correctly.
4. When fitting or removing needles and during use, due care and attention must be
given to ensure that accidental needle-stick injuries are avoided.
5. When setting up, cleaning, maintaining, or using this injector, take all appropriate
precautions to avoid spilling, direct contact with, or inhalation of the product
being used with this injector. Refer to the use and safety instructions on the label
of the product for specific advice and wear appropriate safety clothing as
recommended by the manufacturer of the product being applied.
6. Before use the equipment must be sterilized. See the care and maintenance section.
7. Seek advice on the standard practices to be used to minimize the risks of
cross-infection between treated animals. Such advice should be available from
sources such as producer and industry organizations, government extension
services, or the manufacturer of the product being applied.
8. Before dosing, ensure that the components of the injector are secure and that
it is in good working order.
9. Do not use this injector if it is leaking. Stop immediately and correct the fault
before continuing.
10. During the working day, when the injector is not in use, leave it in a safe place
out of reach of children, animals, and people not trained in its correct use.
11. Store the injector in a safe place out of reach of children and out of temperature
extremes. Store needles separately from the injector.
12. Always wash hands thoroughly after using or servicing this equipment.
