OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (cont'd)
DRY OPERATION
The dry (dehumidifying) operation removes
moisture from the air. To activate the dry
operation;
1) Direct-drain must be used during this
operation. To set up direct-drain, refer to Direct
Drain, pg.
2) Turn on the unit, and press the MODE
button until the Dry Indicator is lit.
HEAT OPERATION
The heating operation has a set temperature
range between 5°C and 30°C (41°F and
88°F). To activate the heating operation;
1) Press the MODE button until the Heat
Indicator is lit.
2) Use the Temp. Increase or Temp. Decrease
buttons to select desired room temperature.
3) Use the Fan Speed Selection button to
increase or decrease the fan speed used
during operation.
FAN OPERATION
The fan operation does not air condition, heat,
or dehumidify the room; instead, it provides air
circulation. To activate the fan operation;
1) Press the MODE button until the Fan
Indicator is lit.
2) Use the Fan Speed Selection button to
increase or decrease the fan speed used
during operation.
3) Use the Temp. Increase or Temp. Decrease
buttons to select desired room temperature.
TIMER OPERATION
The timer is programmed to activate/deactivate
after the selected amount of hours has passed.
The minimum timer length is 30 minutes, after which the timer increases in 30 minute (0.5
hour) increments, up to 10 hours. Past 10 hours, the timer increases in one (1.0 hour) hour
increments up to a maximum of 24 hours. Increasing the timer past 24 hours returns the timer
to '0' (off).
Setting the Auto-On Timer:
1) When the air conditioner is off, press the Timer On button.
2) Continue to press (or hold down) the Timer On button to select the desired hours-from-now
for the unit to start operation.
Setting the Auto-Off timer:
1) When the air conditioner is on, press the Timer Off button.
2) Continue to press (or hold down) the Timer Off button to select the desired hours-from-now
for the unit to stop operation.
Important Note on the Timer Operation:
• The timer registers a selection after 5 seconds of the Timer On or Timer Off button being
pressed.
COOL OPERATION
The cooling operation has a set temperature
range between 17°C and 32°C (62°F and
92°F). To activate the cooling operation;
1) Press the MODE button until the Cool
Indicator is lit.
2) Use the Temp. Increase or Temp. Decrease
buttons to select desired room temperature.
3) Use the Fan Speed Selection button to
increase or decrease the fan speed used
during operation.
NOTE: Water drainage is not needed during
cooling operation; if you do use direct drain
during the cooling operation, the energy
efficiency will be reduced. However, in
extremely high humidity conditions (e.g. above
85% RH), condensed water may begin to
accumulate in the bottom tray. When the
bottom tray is full, the unit stops running and
sounds a signal (8 beeps). To restart the unit,
see Draining the Unit, pg.
IMPORTANT NOTES ON OPERATION:
• If during Dry or Cooling mode the
compressor cycle is interrupted (e.g.
unplugged, power failure, etc.) and
reinstated immediately thereafter: a
compressor protection circuit self-activates,
and the compressor will not operate for up to
three minutes, or until the protection circuit
deactivates.
• During Dry operation the set temperature
cannot be adjusted. The fan speed is factory
fixed to "High".
• During dry mode, keep windows and doors
closed for the best dehumidification results.
• The unit does not need to be vented
outside during dehumidification or heat
mode.
