INstallatION Ce540P
- Install the unit on a suitably robust structure, using the punch outs on the base of the unit.
Cover the screws with the 4 screw caps supplied.
- Secure input and output cables with suitable ties to avoid them moving or becoming loose.
- During installation, be careful not to damage the control unit's ventilation grilles. Do not obstruct the ventilation
grilles, even by accident: Insufficient ventilation may cause damage to the unit.
- Connect the power supply directly to the lower terminals of the master switch, as indicated by the yellow
plaque, following the correct phase sequence L1, L2, L3.
It is essential to observe the correct phase sequence for proper operation of the unit. Otherwise the unit
switching will be erratic and it will not provide the required power. (See instructions below)
- Earth the unit via the yellow/green terminal.
- The power supply line should be protected upstream with the appropriate switches, and it should be of a
section calculated in accordance with its length and the load applied.
The power supply line is outside the scope of our responsibility and is a part of the unit installation.
- Connect load output to the terminals, as shown in the photos.
Use cables of a section appropriate to the installed load.
Heating panels must be earthed via the appropriate terminal.
- The temperature control thermostat contacts and any other switches/protective devices should be connected
to the 2 terminals provided for this purpose.
The double system has 2 thermostats, which should preferably be different.
If, for any reason, only one thermostat is used, the 2 contacts can be connected in parallel, taking care to
connect like poles: negative with negative and positive with positive. Therefore, bridges will be made between
terminals 1 and 3, 2 and 4.
If the system is not connected to a thermostat these two terminals should be bridged (this type of installation is
not recommended).
Use only clean volt-free contacts.
The contact line is powered at 5V; therefore the thermostat should be installed reasonably close to the unit. If
the thermostat is located more than two metres away from the unit, it should ideally be connected using shielded
cable. In this case, connect the shielding to earth on the unit side and keep it insulated at the other end.
