6.6 Cutting circles with the compass point

Proceed as follows to cut circles around a center-
point:
•
Fit and adjust the compass point (33) as
explained in section 5.4.
•
Place the compass point (33) on the center-
point of the circle you want to cut and press it
in place.
•
Perform the cut as described in section 6.4.
6.7 Making cuts with the edge guide (34)
Proceed as follows to cut along a straight outer
edge of a workpiece:
•
Fit the edge guide (34) as explained in
section 5.3.
•
Move the edge guide (34) along the outer
edge of the workpiece.
•
Perform the cut as explained in section 6.4.
6.8 Making cuts freehand
The cordless router can also be used without any
guides. You can use it freehand on creative jobs
such as the production of lettering.
•
Use a very flat router bit setting for this
purpose!
•
Check the direction in which the router bit is
turning while you machine the workpiece (Fig.
21).
6.9 Cutting shapes and edges (Fig. 22)
•
Special router bits with a guide ring can be
used for cutting shapes (41.1) and edges
(41.2).
•
Fit the router bit.
•
Carefully move the machine against the
workpiece.
•
Using gentle pressure, move the guide journal
or ball bearing (41.3) along the workpiece.
Cordless router with fi xed base
With the help of the trimmer roller guide (32)
you can also perform edge cuts.
•
Fit the trimmer roller guide (32) as explained
in section 5.9.
•
Place the cordless router with fixed base
on the workpiece and adjust the height of
the trimmer roller guide (32) so that the ball
bearing (32.1) lies underneath the router bit.
•
Now undo the fastening knob (32.2) and then
use the adjustment knob (32.3) to set the lat-
eral feed of the router bit.
•
Retighten the fastening knob (32.2).

Warning:
For deep cuts, carry out the work in several
steps according to the material in question.
Hold the equipment with two hands during all
cutting work.
6.10 Charging the Lithium-Ion battery (not
included)
The corresponding instructions can be found
in the original operating instructions for your
charger.
6.11 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 26 / item
44)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (45).
The battery capacity indicator (44) shows the
charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED fl ashing:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs fl ashing:
The temperature of the battery is too low. Remove
the battery from the device and leave it at room
temperature for a day. If the error occurs again,
this means that the battery has been completely
depthdischarged and is defective. Remove the
battery from the device. Never use or charge a
defective battery.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
HAZARD!
Always take the battery out of the equipment
before starting any cleaning work.
7.1 Cleaning
•
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it down with compressed air at
low pressure.
•
We recommend cleaning the equipment
immediately each time after use.
•
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents; these may
