Special safety instructions
•
Hold the power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces only, because the router bit may
contact its own cord. Cutting a "live" wire
may make exposed metal parts of the power
tool "live" and could give the operator an
electric shock.
•
Use clamps or another practical way to
secure and support the workpiece to
a stable platform. Holding the workpiece
by your hand or against the body leaves it
unstable and may lead to loss of control.
•
Before you put the electric router into
operation, check to ensure that the router bit
is firmly seated and runs smoothly!
•
Never use a low quality or damaged router bit.
•
Only use router bits whose shaft diameter
complies with the specifications in the instruc-
tions.
•
The maximum speed specified for the router
bits can't be exceeded.
•
Never cut over metal parts, screws, nails, etc.
•
To avoid damage to the router, make sure
there are no foreign objects stuck to the work-
piece.
•
Always guide the router with both hands.
•
Let the router reach full speed before
plunging the router bit into the workpiece.
•
If the router becomes clogged with work
debris, switch it off. Let the router come to a
complete stop. Remove the debris with a long
stick and not with your fingers.
•
Let the router run to a complete stop before
removing the workpiece or setting down the
tool.
•
Always cut on a counter-rotating basis.
•
Watch out for the reaction torque of the tool,
especially if the router becomes jammed.
•
When you have finished your work, slide the
tool back to starting position.
•
Use only properly sharpened router bits.
•
Clamp the router bit by friction-locking.
•
For deep cuts, carry out the work in several
steps according to the material in question.
