8. Operation
a) Mains cable
The mains cable is very short to prevent it from being damaged by the rotating brush during use. An ex-
tension cable is therefore required to use the appliance. If the extension cable is damaged, it is easier to
replace than the mains cable on the weed sweeper.
• Make a loop with the extension cable and slide it from underneath into the opening on the handle near the cable
grip (3)
• Place the loop next to the cable grip (3) and pull it backwards to secure it in place.
• Connect the mains plug on the weed sweeper to the socket on the extension cable.
• Plug the mains plug on the extension cable into a mains socket.
b) Operation
Always observe the safety information at the beginning of these operating instructions.
Before using the weed sweeper, check whether there are any loose screws and ensure that the locking
mechanisms are secure. In addition, check that the brush is intact (there must not be any signs of exces-
sive wear).
Always hold the weed sweeper with both hands using the handle (10) and the auxiliary handle (9).
Check whether the brush is suitable by using it in an area that is not susceptible to damage. Use the plastic
brush on sensitive surfaces, as the wire brush damages these surfaces more easily.
Warning – the brush continues to rotate for a few seconds after the weed sweeper is switched off.
• Press the switch lock (2), and then switch on the weed sweeper using the on/off switch (1).
The switch lock (2) can be pressed in both directions. This makes it easy to use for left and right-handed
people.
• Before commencing work, allow the weed sweeper to reach a constant speed.
• Start cleaning in the area next to the mains socket, and then move away. This reduces the risk of running over and
damaging the extension cable.
• Do not overload the weed sweeper by applying too much pressure. Areas with stubborn dirt should be cleaned
several times instead of applying additional pressure. This protects the surface and prevents the weed sweeper
from becoming overloaded.
• Move the weed sweeper slowly and evenly over the surface that you want to clean. Ensure that the weed sweeper
keeps moving. Using it for too long in the same position may damage the surface.
• Hold the weed sweeper so that the bottom is parallel to the ground.
• To switch the weed sweeper off (after you have finished cleaning or in the event of a safety hazard), release the
on/off switch (1).
