• The mains socket to which the device is connected must have a residual current circuit breaker with a
trip current of max. 30 mA.
• The mains socket must be located near to your work space and be easily accessible.
• The mains plug must fit into the mains socket. Never attempt to modify the mains plug or use an adapter.
Using unmodified mains plugs and suitable sockets reduces the risk of an electrical accident.
• When using the device outdoors, use an extension cable that is designed and approved for outdoor use.
Mains cables designed for indoor use can easily cause an electric shock when used outdoors.
• The extension cable must be able to withstand the load of the appliance and must always be fully un-
wound.
• The product must not become damp or wet. This can result in permanent damage and cause a fatal
electric shock!
• Never touch the device when your hands are wet or damp. This may cause a fatal electric shock!
• Do not touch the product when there are any signs of damage on the appliance or the mains cable.
Switch off the appropriate mains socket (e.g. via the respective circuit-breaker and the RCD), and then
carefully unplug the device from the mains socket. Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist
workshop.
• Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes and radiators. The risk of an electric shock
increases when your body is grounded.
• Do not misuse the mains cable or extension cable. Never use the mains or extension cable to carry or
pull the appliance. Never use the mains cable to pull the mains plug out of the mains socket. Avoid ex-
posing the mains or extension cable to heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts. Damaged mains cables
increase the risk of an electric shock.
c) Using the weed sweeper
• Never switch the appliance on when it is upside down.
• Always switch the appliance off and unplug it from the mains before transporting it or turning it upside
down.
• Never touch the rotating brush. Risk of injury! The brush will continue to rotate for a short period after the
appliance is switched off.
• Wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before placing it on a surface.
• Keep your hands and feet away from the rotating brush during use.
• Never run the appliance over the mains or extension cable.
• Protect the tool against unauthorized use. Always check that the on/off switch is in the off position when
placing, lifting or carrying the device and before inserting or unplugging the mains plug. Do not carry the
appliance on your finger using the on/off switch.
• Never attempt to turn off safety mechanisms.
• Do not use the product near wet materials.
• Never use the product next to or near flammable liquids or gases, air/gas mixtures (petrol vapours) or
flammable solids/dust. The product may generate sparks during use – explosion hazard!
• Check the on/off switch for signs of damage before each use. Using the tool with a damaged on/off switch
affects your ability to control the tool and is therefore very dangerous.
