• Never use the appliance without a protective cover or with a damaged protective cover.
• Never use the device if there are objects wrapped around the drive shaft.
• Do not overload electrical appliances. Only use electrical appliances for their intended purposes.
• Switch the device off immediately if the drive becomes blocked (e.g. if an object gets caught in the brush).
• Always unplug the mains plug before adjusting or storing the appliance or changing the brush. This
prevents you from turning the appliance on by accident.
• Remove all adjusting tools (e.g. wrenches) before switching on the appliance, otherwise they may be
ejected out of position and cause an injury.
• Keep the handles and surface of the tool dry, clean and free from oil or lubricants, otherwise the appliance
may slip out of position and cause an accident.
• Exercise caution when using the device and do not allow yourself to be distracted.
• Keep children, other people and animals away from the work area. Distractions can cause accidents.
• Maintain a good footing to ensure that you can control the tool in the event of unforeseen situations.
• Hold the tool with a firm grip. If the motor stops suddenly (e.g. if the brush becomes caught), the torque
will be transmitted to the weed sweeper. This may cause the appliance to slip out of your hand and cause
an injury!
• Keep your workstation clean and ensure that it is well lit. A disorganized workstation or poor lighting can
cause accidents. Ensure that your workstation is well ventilated.
• Before each use, check the surface for any loose objects that may be thrown up into the air by the rotating
brush. This may injure the user and/or other people/animals in the vicinity as well as damage the appli-
ance. Dust from materials can be harmful to health and cause allergic reactions, respiratory illnesses and
even cancer (materials containing asbestos must be handled by a qualified technician).
• Do not insert any objects into the ventilation slots. In addition, ensure that no dust or other materials enter
the ventilation slots, as this may result in a short circuit or cause a fire or explosion.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the power supply. Unplug the mains plug
before moving away from the appliance.
• Do not use the tool when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of carelessness can cause serious injuries.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear protective goggles, sturdy shoes, long trousers, ear
defenders, and if necessary, gloves. Never work barefoot or with sandals.
• Wear suitable protective clothing and remove all jewellery. Hair, jewellery and clothing may become
trapped in the rotating parts. For this reason, use a hair net if you have long hair and wear tight-fitting
clothing.
• Always exercise caution when using the appliance, even if you have used it frequently. Always follow the
safety information and remain alert at all times. A moment of carelessness can cause serious injuries.
• Service the tool regularly and check for signs of damage, dirt, incorrect settings, wear and tear or other
issues that may present a hazard. If the appliance is damaged, it must be repaired by a technician before
you use it again. Poorly serviced tools frequently cause accidents.
• Do not use the appliance if the brush is worn out. Only use original replacement brushes.
• Always observe all relevant national regulations (e.g. occupational safety measures).
