oPerAtion - using for the first time
1. Remove the appliance from the packaging.
2. Clean the appliance thoroughly to remove any manufacturing residues (see "Cleaning and maintenance").
4. Fill the bowl with oil or fat. The level of the oil or fat must lie between the 'MIN' and 'MAX' marks in the
bowl. Do not use standard margarine or butter.
Besides oil you may also use solid frying fats in this fryer (blocks of fat). When filling or refilling, please follow
these instructions:
1. Set the temperature at ca. 130 degrees Celsius.
2. Take the basket out of the fryer.
3. Unpack the blocks of fat (Please make sure all the wrapping paper is properly disposed of) and put them
in the fat fryer, spread them over the heating element as much as possible.
4. Put the power plug into the socket.
The fryer will now start melting the blocks of fat at a low temperature at which point some smoke may appear.
This is not out of the ordinary. Make sure the room is properly ventilated.
NEVER set the temperature above 130 degrees Celsius during this procedure. It will cause the heating
element to overheat, which will not be able to discard the heat it generates and that will activate the
overheating safeguard.
