2. Use a No. 2 phillips-head screwdriver to loosen each screw that secures a wire to the
PCM:
•
Black wire from the -48 V terminal
•
Blue wire from the RTN terminal
•
Ground wire from the ground terminal on the PCM outside the power connector
cover.
3. Reinstall screws and washers on the PCM power terminals.
4. Attach the safety cover over the power terminal block if you are not planning to
connect power.
5. Connect power cables as described in Connecting the power cables.
Connecting the power cables
Connect power directly to the PCM from your power source or by using the cable that
is provided by the vendor. These instructions apply to connections made directly to your
power source.
About this task
•
Use a No. 2 phillips-head screwdriver to secure the screws to the terminals.
•
Torque screws to between 1.7 N-m and 2.3 N-m (15 in-lb and 20 in-lb).
Steps
1. Ensure that the power switch on the PCM is turned off.
2. Remove the safety cover from the PCM terminal block.
3. Attach the ground lug (1) to the ground terminal located outside the power safety
cover.
4. Connect the DC power (2) to the -48 V terminal on the PCM and secure the wire with
a screw and square washer.
5. Connect DC return (3) to the RTN terminal on the PCM and secure the wire with a
screw and square washer.
