Modbus RTU Interface
• Cooling units with an X-Series (XC) Premium Controller have a Modbus RTU Interface (X58). It allows for
integration into an industrial field bus system.
• The core function of the field bus is to ensure quick, cyclical transfer of input and output data. Each bus
subscriber within a network must have a unique address to allow it to be directly addressed and identified by
other bus subscribers.
• Function: The Modbus RTU interface (X58) is based on a Host/Client communication protocol
The host, such as a PC, can connect to multiple clients, such as measurement and control systems. In
general, the host initiates the communication. The host determines which data points should be read out by the
client and at which address the readout should begin. The readout data are sent from the client to the host in a
readable structure. If an error arises during the readout process, then an error code replaces the data at that
position. The error code is passed to the host.
The data points can be read and written via an interface.
The technical description and detailed functional description of the data points is an individual, option extension
available from Pfannenberg. The contact form can be found

Adapting the upstream fuse /transformer options
Cooling units with an X-Series (XC) Premium Controller do not have any transformer options. Therefore,
adaptation of the upstream fuse is not necessary, see
UL-conformity with the following fuses: Category "ClassCC", time-delay.

Components for internal protection
•
Cooling units have safety components to protect against residual current, overload current and short-circuit
current.
