Air filter element cleaning
• Remove the air filter cover (m) by loosening 2 toggle latches
(n).
• Remove the air filter element and clean with soapy water,
then rinse with water thoroughly and air dry completely.
• In case of necessary, clean the filter element with
nonflammable solvent, then air dry completely.
• Soak the cleaned filter element in clean engine oil, then
squeeze out any excess oil.
• NOTE: Too much oil remained in the filter element will
cause the engine to smoke during initial start-up.
•
Restore the filter element and air filter cover.
Sediment cup (o) cleaning
• Remove the access panel from the generator.
• Turn the fuel valve (j) to OFF position (refer to Section 4.3).
• Remove the sediment cup (o), fuel filter and o-ring by removing a
bolt under the cup with a suitable wrench.
• Clean the sediment cup with nonflammable solvent, then air dry.
• Restore the sediment cup, fuel filter and o-ring onto the generator.
• Turn the fuel valve to ON position and check for leaks.
Spark plug replacement
• Remove the access panel from the generator.
• Remove the spark plug cap (q), and remove any dirt from area
around the spark plug.
• Remove the spark plug with a spark plug wrench.
• Visually inspect the spark plug and make sure the electrode is
clean and not worn out. Remove any carbon that is
accumulated around the electrode.
• Measure the spark plug gap with a spark plug gauge. Correct
the gap, if necessary, by carefully bending the side electrode. The
gap should be 0,70 - 0,80 mm.
• Check that the spark plug sealing washer is in good condition,
carefully thread the spark plug in by hand to prevent cross-threading.
• After the spark plug is seated, tighten with a spark plug wrench to
compress the washer.
• Attach the spark plug cap.
