Fuel level
• Check the fuel level gauge (l) and make sure there is
sufficient fuel in the fuel tank.
• Wear protective gloves to avoid spillage on skin.
• To refuel, open the fuel tank cap (6).
• Just inside the fuel tank is a fuel filter which catches any
contaminants in fuel.
• Slowly transfer recommended fuel (refer to Table 1) into
the fuel tank. Always check the fuel gauge and make sure
it is not overfilled.
• Restore the fuel tank cap.
Grounding (Earthing)
Connect the ground lead between the earth terminal and the ground:
• Connect one end of the ground lead to the earth terminal (10).
• Connect the other end to an external earth (example: an earthing rod).
Battery
• Connect the red positive (+) battery cable to the battery positive (+) terminal, then connect
the other end to the generator.
• Connect the black negative (-) battery cable to the battery negative (-) terminal, then connect
the other end to the generator.
• IMPORTANT! Do not reverse these positions. Otherwise serious damage may be caused to
the generator and battery.
5.3- Operation
Starting the generator
• Remove all connections from the AC sockets.
• Make sure the circuit breaker (9) is set to OFF position.
• Turn the fuel valve (j) to the ON position.
• Move the choke lever (k) to the CLOSE position.
• For model PRGE3150, set the engine power switch (2) to ON position, then pull the recoil
starter to start the engine. See Section 4.2 for details.
• For model PRGE5501, turn the engine power switch (2) to START position and hold for 5
seconds or until the engine starts. See Section 4.2 for details. Turn the power switch to ON
position after starting the engine.
• Turn the choke lever to OPEN position as the engine warms up.
Stopping the generator
• Make sure the circuit breaker (9) is set to OFF position.
• Disconnect the DC battery charging cables (for model PRGE5501 only).
• Switch the power switch (2) to OFF position to stop the engine.
• Turn the fuel valve (j) to the OFF position.
• Unplug all devices from the generator's outlet sockets (8).
• In case of emergency, switch the power switch (2) to OFF position directly to stop the
engine immediately.
