Safety instructions
Target group:
For skilled electricians and suitable qualified, instructed
personnel in accordance with national legislation, including the
relevant standards and, where applicable, in acc. with
IEC/EN 60079-17 on electrical apparatus for explosive atmospheres.
– The torch must not be used in zone 20 hazardous areas!
– The temperature class and the max. surface temperature marked
on the torch is to be observed!
– The torch may only be opened or charged outside of hazardous
areas!
– Modifications to the lamp or changes of its design are not
permitted!
– The torch shall only be used for its intended purpose and in perfect
condition!
– For replacing components, only genuine Cooper Crouse-Hinds
(CCH)/CEAG spare parts may be used!
– Observe the chemical resistance of the used material!
– Repairs that affect the explosion protection, may only be carried
out by CCH/CEAG or a qualified "electrician"!
Observe the national safety rules and regulations for prevention of
accidents as well as the following safety instructions which are
marked with an (
) in these operating instructions!

Conformity with standards
The apparatus are conform to the standards specified in the EC-Declara-
tion of conformity, enclosed separately.
This torchlight is suitable for use in zone 0, 1, 2, 21 and 22 hazardous
areas acc. to IEC/EN 60079-10-1 and IEC/EN 60079-10-2 and.
References to standards and directives in these operating instructions
always relate to the latest version. Other additions (e.g. details relating to
the year) shall be observed.

Description and application
The Stabex HF LED torch is particularly suitable for inspection and
maintenance duties as well as for security patrols.
The torch is composed of three units:
1. Housing with switch (ON-OFF),
2. Bezel ring with protective glass and reflector
3. Battery case for dry batteries
The handle is fitted with a belt loop.

Taking into operation
Prior to taking the torch into operation, check its correct
functioning and perfect condition in accordance with these operat-
ing instructions and other applicable regulations!
The torch may be opened only outside of hazardous areas!
Screw off handle and insert dry batteries (acc. to section 6).
Mind: Do not use individual rechargeable accumulators or
accumulator sets!

Maintenance/Servicing
As far as the maintenance, servicing and test of electrical apparatus for
explosive atmospheres are concerned, the respective national regulations
in conjunction with the relevant standards will be applicable
(IEC/EN 60079-17)!
6.1
Battery replacement
Battery replacement may only be performed in a non-hazardous
area!
Mind: Only use batteries that are listed in the Technical Data.
Observe the proper polarity when inserting the dry batteries.
1. Keep switch button pressed down. Open the torch by turning the
handle to the left.
2. Replace the dry batteries.
3. Close the torch in inverse order.
Recommendation: Always use batteries of the same date of manufacture.
Note: Observe the national regulations on waste disposal when disposing
of the batteries.
