7) Click the button "OK". The available capacity and the
available recording time will be shown. To make further
settings, proceed with step 2) in chapter 6.4, or, to termi-
nate the setup, click "Cancel" and then click "OK" when
the message "Are you sure you want to cancel Startup
Wizard?" appears.
6.3 Status at first switch-on
1. Continuous recording of all channels to which a camera is
connected will start immediately, indicated by the symbol
R
(Record) in the camera image.
2. If there are channels to which no camera is connected, an
alarm signal will sound for 10 seconds (automatic recog-
nition of missing video signal).
3. When the hard disk is full, the oldest recordings will be
automatically overwritten (continuous recording).
4. The motion detection feature is switched on: When a
change of the image contents is recognized, the symbol
M
(Motion) will appear and an entry in the event list will
be made (date, time, camera channel).
5. The date and the time are not correct.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to update the date and the time
(chapter 6.4 or chapter 6.5). Otherwise, it will not be possible
to find recordings made at a specific point in time.
6.4 Startup Wizard
When the recorder is equipped with a formatted hard disk,
the "Startup Wizard" will be called up after switch-on
(
Fig. 6-1). The wizard will guide you through the required
settings to be made.
Note: If the wizard fails to appear:
1) Press the right mouse button to show the toolbar:

2) Click the symbol
"Main Menu".
3) In the main menu, click "System" in the upper bar.
4) In the last line "Show wizard", tick-select the corresponding field.
5) Click "Save" in the lower right of the menu. The message "Save Para-
meters Successful" will appear. Click "OK" to close it.
6) In the main menu, click "Shutdown" in the upper bar. A new window
will appear; click "Reboot". After the restart, the "Startup Wizard"
will appear.
If you do not want to use the wizard, click "Cancel". You will
be asked if you want to terminate the wizard. Click "OK"
to confirm. For configuration of the recorder, please refer to
chapter 6.5 (next double page) which provides an overview
of all menus.

regard to the hard disk. To set the overwrite mode, open

4) If the recorder is not connected to a network, click "Next"
to go to the next menu and then continue with step 5.
For the network connection, the static setting is re-
commended. The following setting options are available:
