4.3.1 Inserting / Replacing batteries
To insert the batteries (2 x 1.5 V, AAA size), remove the battery
compartment cover on the rear of the remote control. Insert
the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment and then
close the compartment again.
If the remote control is not used for a longer time, remove
the batteries as a precaution so that the remote control will
not be damaged in case the batteries should leak.
Never put batteries in the household waste. To protect
the environment, always take them to a special waste
disposal, e. g. collection container at your retailer.

Connecting the Recorder
5.1 Installing the hard disk
The recorders of the surveillance sets (AXZ-...) are equipped
with a hard disk. The individual recorders (AXR-...), however,
do not include a hard disk, i. e. it must be installed first. The
MONACOR product line offers suitable hard disks (SATA-...)
with different storage capacities. When using hard disks of
other vendors, make sure that they are specially suited for
security and surveillance technology.
Caution: Never insert or remove the hard disk when the re-
corder is switched on!
1) Disconnect the recorder from the power supply.
2) Screw off the housing cover.
3) Insert the hard disk and fasten it with screws.
4) Connect the power supply cable for the hard disk as well
as the data cable to the corresponding connections of the
hard disk.
5) Screw on the housing cover.
6) Connect the recorder and switch it on; then format the hard
disk (chapter 6.2.2) and finally make all settings, using the
"Startup Wizard" (chapter 6.4).

refer to chapter 5.4).
Monitor  jack HDMI (25) for the maximum resolution of
1080p; when the monitor only provides a VGA connection,
the jack VGA (24) can be used (lower resolution)
Mouse provided  USB port
jack (11) on the front should be used for data backup.
5.3 Audio signals
Audio signals (from the cameras)  RCA jacks AUDIO
INPUT (22)
for the recorder AXR-116, additionally the D-sub jack AUDIO

Audio signals for monitoring  When the monitor is con-
nected via the jack HDMI (25), this jack will be used to route the
audio signal to the monitor. For other connection options, the
audio signal is available at the red RCA jack AUDIO OUTPUT (23).
It is always possible to monitor the camera channel that is
shown in the full-screen mode or, in the multi-image mode,
to monitor the image highlighted by a blue border (select with
the left mouse button).
5.4 Alarm inputs and alarm outputs,
PTZ connection
These connections are made by means of the green terminal
strip (27).
Alarm inputs SENSOR
