CLEANING
IMPORTANT!
Watch the following safety instructions before starting to clean the unit:
• Switch the unit off before cleaning and pull the power cord from the electric
socket.
• Let the unit cool down before cleaning.
• Use a soft and moist cloth to clean the outer surfaces of the unit. Use a mild de-
tergent in case of heavy soiling.
• Remove the coffee filter.
• Remove the lid from the insulated coffee pot.
• Clean these parts in hot rinsing water.
• Then towel them well and reinsert the coffee filter and insulated coffee pot.
DESCALING
Descale the unit in regular intervals. This will extend the service life of your unit.
How often you must descale the unit depends on the water hardness in your area.
If you have very hard water (above 26° dH) and drink coffee very often, we recom-
mend that you descale the unit every two to three weeks.
IMPORTANT!
We accept no liability for missing or insufficient decalcification.
In this case, the warranty will become null and void.
You can descale the unit using any household descaling agent. Observe the manu-
facturer's instructions and comply with the operating manual.
Note: Pour water into the tank up to the 6 / 9 cup marking.
Put in a filter bag so that lime residues are absorbed therein.
• Put the insulated coffee pot below the coffee filter.
• Switch the unit on.
• Let the liquid flow through.
• Dispose of the filter bag after completion of the operation.
• The unit switches Off.
• Now rinse the machine with clear water. Pour clear water into the water tank up
to the 6 / 9 cup marking.
• Put the insulated coffee pot below the coffee filter.
• Switch the machine on and let the water flow through.
• After completion of the operation, pour the water away.
• The unit switches Off.
