E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX and ATEX
1.2.1
Area classification
All E-PAK DX high vacuum products are marked with the
category 1/– D equipment according to Directive 94/9/EC. This means that
models with the EX symbol may be used to extract combustible and non-
combustible dust.
NOTE!
The unit as a whole is not to be placed in a classified area. It is only the
inside of the filter that meets the requirements of category 1/– D equipment.
E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX with the
systems internally classified as zone 20 or 21.
The internal side of the E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX (filter and collector
bin) is generally classified as zone 20 or 21.
1.2.2
Permitted materials
NOTE!
It is of the utmost importance to know the properties of the extracted
material.
E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX is intended to be a part of an extraction
system collecting material with the following properties:
•
MIE (Minimum Ignition Energy) > 3 mJ
•
MIT (Minimum Ignition Temperature) > 205 ºC.
•
Kst: < 200 bar m/s
•
Pmax: < 10 bar (145 PSI)
Materials with properties not within the values stated above or if a
suppression system is used are to be investigated prior to use with
E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX. Contact Nederman for technical support and
dust application investigation.
WARNING!
Do not collect material that may cause ignition or blocking. It is strictly
prohibited to collect material that may undergo dangerous chemical or thermal
reactions and/or self-ignite.
NOTE!
Some materials may undergo chemical reactions in combination with
humidity/water. Such humidity may, for example, form if the humidity in the
extracted air is condensed in the filter.
WARNING!
Use suitable protective equipment: goggles, ear protection and a protective
mask.
