OPEN COLLECTOR Exit (NPN-switch output)
A Open-Collector-Output can be com-
pared with a N.O.-closing contact. The
difference is though, that only few
capacity like e.g. a relay or alarm loop
can be switched in alarm installations.
The active output switches to the ground (Minus).
The following illustrations provide examples of the most common-
methods of connecting your code lock.
We recommend that you draw a similar connection sketch contain-
ing your own components. The large number of connection possi-
bilities makes it impossible to show all possible variations in this
manual.
The diode (1N4004) included with the device is to be used for sup-
pressing the inductive interference voltages that occur in DC-based
systems when the door opener is switched. Connect this in parallel
to the door opener, as shown in the illustration. Warning! The cath-
ode (shown as a ring) of the diode must be connected to the plus
terminal of the door opener.
The diode is not required for AC-based installations
The buttons for the door opener can be changed at any time.
