Use
Preparing the full-face mask: Open the straps as far as they will go.
Place the carrier strap around your neck and button it into the hole on
the head strap (top).
Fitting the full-face mask: Beards and
sideburns in the sealing area of the full-face
mask will cause leaks. The full-face mask
should therefore not be used by anyone with
facial hair of this kind. Spectacle frames in the
sealing area also cause leaks. Use special
mask goggles. Unbutton the carrier strap.
Insert chin in chin-piece.
Fit harness over the head, pulling back until
the head strap fits smoothly. Adjust full-face
mask until it fits properly.
1 Tighten neck straps evenly.
2 Tighten temple straps evenly.
3 Users with a small head should additionally
tighten the head strap.
Leak test: Seal the mask connector and breathe in to produce a
negative pressure. Hold your breath for a moment. The negative
pressure should be maintained. If not, retighten the straps. Repeat the
leak test twice. Never use a full-face mask that leaks!
Check the exhalation valve: Seal the mask connector and breathe out
forcefully. The exhaled air must be able to escape without obstruction.
If not, refer to the instructions in "Visual inspection of exhalation valve".
Connect the positive-pressure compressed air breathing apparatus
or positive-pressure fresh air hose respirator
Extreme operating conditions
In case of low temperatures: Treat the inside of the visor with
"klar-pilot" anti-misting gel to prevent it from fogging up
In case of high temperatures: Leave the danger zone immediately if
the visor is damaged.
In the presence of chemicals: Some substances, such as H
phosgene, may be absorbed by the material of the full-face mask,
particularly silicone, and may diffuse through it.
In explosion-hazard areas: Treat the full-face mask with anti-static
spray or work with a water veil.
After Use
Disconnect the demand valve: Press the button and pull the demand
valve out of the mask connector at the same time.
Remove full-face mask: Insert index finger
behind the tabs on the neck straps and press
the clamping buckles forward with the
thumbs, pulling the full-face mask off your
face and over your head at the same time.
Cleaning, disinfecting and drying
Only use approved detergents and disinfectants.
Cleaning: The full-face mask must be cleaned after every use. Do not
use any organic solvents, such as acetone, alcohol, etc. Clean the full-
face mask with a cloth and lukewarm water mixed with all-purpose
detergent, e.g. Sekusept Cleaner
thoroughly under running water.
Disinfecting: The full-face mask must be disinfected after every use.
Place the full-face mask in a disinfectant bath. Use Incidur

and over-long disinfecting times can damage the mask. Rinse
thoroughly under running water.
