Function
• Built-in electronic circuit for operation with a conventional
DC power pack (max. ±12 volts), Trix Systems, Trix Selectrix
or NMRA DCC digital systems.
• Automatic system recognition between digital and analog
operation.
• No automatic system recognition between Selectrix (SX)
and DCC.
• Headlights for the locomotive change over with the
direction of travel. They can be turned on and off in digital
operation.
Using this Model for the First Time
• Carefully release the pantograph before placing the car on
the track; the pantograph will come up.
• After the voltage has been interrupted (example: by a track
block without current) the Piezo motors must be initialized
again. This occurs for the motors for the work platform
when they are used for the first time. The mechanism for
the pantograph is immediately initialized again every time.
• Before running this car, make sure that the work platform is
in the lower position for height and the middle position for
turning. Otherwise, this car may collide with masts, tunnel
portals, signals, etc.
• When the catenary maintenance car has not been used for
a long time or is to be packed away, the pantograph should
be raised and clipped into place by hand.
Advanced Functions
• The mechanism for the platform and the pantograph can
only be activated when the car is stopped.
• The mechanism for the platform is limited to 20 seconds of
movement, provided that you do not make any additional
changes with the control knob. Starting the function again:

Set the speed control knob to zero, turn f1 or f2 off/on.
• When you have reached the end setting, we recommend
that you turn the function off (reduces wear and tear).
• The effectiveness of the Piezo mechanisms can be
influenced by external factors (temperature, humidity,
interruptions in the current); this can be corrected by
pressing button f4 on/off.
The prototypical construction of this model requires or
causes the following
• the track on your layout must meet high standards for
precision and construction. For that reason you may have
operating problems in these situations when running the
rail bus at extremely slow speeds or fast speeds through
turnouts.
• the coupler pockets are mounted lower than the NEM 362
standard.
• the wheels are mounted deep up in the floor of the rail bus
and are therefore inaccessible for changing traction tires
when the latter becomes necessary. Have the traction tyres
replaced only by an authorised dealer.
Notes on digital operation:
• The function decoder is automatically always programmed
to the sequential address for the locomotive decoder.
• This locomotive comes from the factory programmed for
the digital address "01" (Selectrix) / "03" (DCC). Number of
speed levels that have been set: 28 (DCC) and 31 (Selectrix).
• The first time the locomotive is used in a digital system
(Selectrix or DCC), the decoder must be set for this digital
system. To do this, the decoder must be programmed once
in this digital system.
