Rough-In Pan Accessory
Installation Information
This document provides professional installers with basic installation and safety guidelines for using the rough-in
pan accessory with Bose Professional EdgeMax EM90 and EM180 loudspeakers. Please read this document before
attempting installation.
Use the rough-in pan to install the loudspeaker in any unfinished hard-deck ceiling, such as drywall, gypsum, or
plaster. Attach the rough-in pan to furring channels or wood studs before the ceiling is completed.
To install the rough-in pan:
1. Attach rough-in pan to ceiling furring or wood studs. See Figure 1. The rough-in pan includes multiple pre-
drilled holes to accommodate different stud spacing, speaker orientation, or speaker placement.
2. Finish the ceiling.
3. Cut a hole in the finished ceiling, using the rough-in pan as a guide. See Figure 2.
4. Install the loudspeaker in the rough-in pan by following the instructions in the Bose Professional EdgeMax
EM90 and EM180 Loudspeakers Installation Guide (available at BoseProfessional.com).
