e. Connecting an answering unit using CB LIVIA as an option
Use the following wires:
• 4 wires + 2 x 6 /10 wires up to 25 m
1. Connect the wires following the wiring diagram (fig 6.3 or fig 6.4).
2. 4 Wires are needed to connect all the functions of the roadside panel: ring tone, video image, intercom
+ 2 extra wires to connect a strike/electric lock and a gate opening mechanism
Warning: never double wires to increase their size
Respect the polarity between the two receivers
• Terminal "1" on the main monitor to terminal "1" on the answering unit
• Terminal "2" on the main monitor to terminal "2" on the answering unit
• Terminal "3" on the main monitor to terminal "3" on the answering unit
• Terminal "4" on the main monitor to terminal "4" on the answering unit
To connect a strike or an electric lock (fig 6.3)
• Terminal "5" on the main monitor to terminal "5" on the answering unit
• Terminal "6" on the main monitor to terminal "6" on the answering unit
OR To connect an automatic gate opening mechanism (fig 6.4 / requires WE 8111 BIS SER.R4)
• The red and black wire from the WE 8111 SER.R4 to terminals ''5'' and ''6'' on the response station
• The white wires from the WE 8111 SER.R4 to terminals 7 and 8 of the monitor
Important : For the wiring diagram, please consult the label on the back of the monitor and the answering unit.

6. USER GUIDE

a. Using the videophone
• A call from the roadside panel triggers an audible alarm and switches on the monitor for
approximately 30 seconds. When the visitor has been identified, press the
button to talk.
Note: The
button only needs pressing once to communicate with the roadside panel.
• When the conversation is finished wait for the end of the time-out (approximately 2 minutes) or press the
button
to turn the monitor off.
• Prolonging the image:
To prolong the image a further 60 seconds, press the
key.
• Activating a latch:
The latch or lock is triggered when the
button is pressed.
• Activating an automatic mechanism:
To activate an automatic control, press the
button.
NB: The opening functions are only valid if the screen is switched on.
b. Controls on the videophone
(fig.2.1)
4 controls are located on the side of the monitor:
• Selection of the ring tone (12) (monitor on stand-by).
• Ring tone volume adjustment (15)
• Contrast adjustment (14).
• Brightness adjustment (13).
NB: the use and controls are the same on the optional extra MN LIVIA monitor
c. Using the optional CB LIVIA answering unit
• A call from the roadside panel triggers an audible alarm on the response station. You have 30 seconds to answer.
Press the
key to talk to your visitor.
You only need to press the
key once to speak to the person in the street.
