V1.1
7.
Bundled wires may require separation to determine which
wire belong to the circuit. Other wires may carry a weaker
signal from the transmitter. The wire with the strongest signal
is the one connected to the transmitter.
8.
If it is difficult to find the signal, increase the receiver
sensitivity.
TRACING A CIRCUIT
Use the receiver to find the location of the fault in the
suspect wire.
1.
Slowly move the probe along the circuit from the end near
the transmitter.
1.1
A flashing green LED and the buzzing indicates the
circuit is closed. The LED will flash until a break or short
circuit is found.
1.2 A solid green light indicates the circuit is open at this
point. This is where the fault is located.
1.3 A red LED and a change in the buzzer indicates the
circuit is shorted at this point.
2.
The flashing and buzzing will slow as the circuit signal fades.
This means the receiver is either moving away from the circuit
section carrying the signal or the insulation is too thick.
Increase the receiver sensitivity and retrace the circuit until
you find the fault or short circuit.
3.
Mark the location on the wire.
4.
Turn off the receiver and set aside.
5.
Remove the transmitter. Do not turn the transmitter off until it
is disconnected from the circuit to prevent damage to the
transmitter.
