Installation of the Gyro
When installing the gyro, make sure to select a place of installation
where the gyro is well-protected from vibrations and heat
fluctuations.
In many cases, the manufacturers of the respective model
helicopter indicate the precise installation site for the gyro.
If this is not the case for your model, select an installation site
close to the main rotor shaft.
The installation platform where you fit the gyro must be in a 90
degree angle to the main rotor shaft.
Only use the supplied double-sided adhesive foam pad (see
sketch A) for attachment.
The stabilisation axle of the gyro runs in parallel to the main rotor
shaft if installed correctly.
Caution:
If the helicopter turns sideways in mid-flight, this may be due to mechanical vibrations. For high-frequency
vibrations, it may be helpful to use both foam adhesive pads and to glue the metal plate in between (see figure 2,
sketch B).
The cables connected to the gyro must be placed so that they cannot transmit any mechanical vibrations to the
gyro and so that they cannot get into any rotating parts of the mechanics or be worn through at sharp edges.
Tail Servo Installation
The tail servo (7) installation and the setting of the tail rotor is
usually precisely indicated in the model helicopter's documents.
Attention, important!
To achieve the best gyro effect, the servo lever (8) and
the linkage rods (9) must be at a 90° angle to each
other (neutral position).
The distance (A) is according to model size and usually indicated
in the model helicopter's documents.
If you have no information on this, use the following values:
For standard servos: 12 – 17 mm
For mini-/micro-servos: 8 – 15 mm
Always observe perfectly smooth and play-free linkage of the tail rotor.
