MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Bar
C 1 Neck series 2000 (ZF2000 or ZQ2000)
D1 1 Centre Strap (Post 2003 models)
D2 1 Centre Strap (Pre 2003 models)
E 1 Left Hand Spreader Plate
F 1 Right Hand Spreader Plate
G1 4 M10 x 90mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (25mm O.D)
G 4 Bush (52mm long, 19mm O.D)
J 1 M12 x 100mm Bolt (10.9 grade) and Nyloc Nut
K 1 M12 x 35mm Bolt and Nyloc Nut
EP 1 Electrical Plate with M12x25mm Washer
FITTING
1. Remove and discard central towing loop. Loosely attach Centre Strap (D1 or D2) (depending on model year) to
the towing loop captive nuts using original Bolts (X). Remove plastic bungs from rear most holes (G1) in lower
chassis skin, using a suitable punch mark through these holes to show position in upper skin. Carefully insert
Cross Bar (A) over fuel filler pipe (left hand side) and exhaust tail pipe (right hand side) against chassis, loosely
attach to Centre Strap (D1 or D2) using Bolts (K) or (J).
2. Remove side trim panels to allow access to mountings (G1) from inside boot compartment. Position Spreader
Plate (E) over previously marked holes (G1), ensuring they remain parallel mark through for forward holes (G1),
using a 11mm diameter drill bit, drill through both skins at marked positions. Open out holes (top surface only) to
allow Bushes (G) to be inserted.
3. Loosely attach Cross Bar (A) to vehicle chassis using Bolts (G1) with flat washers and Spreader Plate (E) fitted
on top skin.
4. Finally, Fit chosen Neck (C), Tighten all Bolts ensuring faceplate on Neck (C) remains vertical and square
to bumper.
NOTE: Remove Centre Part (C) when not in use to avoid number plate obscuration
Note: This towbar must be used with a Witter Series 2000 Neck or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
