General
Check filter for any evidence of damage due to rough handling
in shipment. If filter is damaged notify the carrier immediately.
The filter may only be used for the filtering of swimming pool
water, garden pond water or similar applications.
Installation instructions
Please note: there can be specific needs to use filters nearby
swimming pools, garden ponds or such places.
The filter should be placed on a flat, solid foundation.
Install the filter and pump in a sheltered location, ensuring ven-
tilation and adequate access for servicing. Place the filter in its
permanent location. Make sure you can reach the valve easily.
Then fix the piping. Use only plastic piping. Size all piping ad-
equately and keep the number of elbows to a minimum.
Operation
Look inside and check lower distribution system for broken ore
loose laterals. Fill tank for 1/3 with water. Before filling the filter,
sand guide should be on the pipe. Fill the filter with the speci-
fied quantity of gravel, afterwards with sand. Remove the sand
guide. Put some vaseline on the O-rings from the valve. Assem-
ble the valve to the filter and tighten with the clamp ring. Con-
nect the piping. Turn the valve into position "Rinse" and start the
pump for at least 1 minute.
CAUTION:
NEVER SHIFT VALVE HANDLE POSITION WHILE PUMP IS
RUNNING. NEVER DISASSEMBLE VALVE WHILE FILTER IS UN-
DER PRESSURE.
Filtration
When the filter is used for the first time, shift the valve han-
dle to 'Backwash' position, until you see clear water appearing
through the sideglass. Do this at least 3 times before proceed-
ing with below steps:
1. Shift valve handle to position "Filtration"
2. Start the pump
3. Note here the pressure of the pressure gauge

(about 3 minutes).
