Remark
This installation manual is intended for qualified specialists only.
Basic installation steps are therefore not described.
For the nominal sizes DN150 to DN300, the meter reading must be multiplied
by a factor of x10
Permissible installation positions
The WP series is intended for installation in the horizontal and vertical
positions.
Installation manual
The WP series has been approved with a flow sensitivity class U0/D0
(No inlet and outled section required) However, to achieve the best
measurement results, we recommend observing national regulations
and recognised rules of technology.
For WP series is recommended a straight inlet section of at least 3xDN.
Ideally, at least 2xDN should be available as the outlet distance.
Before installing the meter, the piping must be thoroughly flushed out.
The pipe diameter should not be reduced, directly in front and behind
the meter.
Flange gaskets must not extend into the pipe.
It must be ensured that the flow direction of the meter matches that of
the pipe.
Valves or other flow regulators should be installed, where possible,
behind the meter.
The meter should be installed, where possible, at the highest point of
the pipe installation so that air bubbles are not able to form in the meter
and the pipe is always completely filled.
If necessary, the meter should be protected by a corresponding filter,
so that no foreign particles, such as stones or sand, are flushed into the
measuring instrument and cause damage.
The meter must be protected against pressure surges in the pipe net-
work.
The maximum water temperature must not exceed the permissible 90
°C for hot water.
In order to prevent damage to the measuring insert caused by pressure
surges, the pipe must be slowly filled following installation.
It must be ensured that the meter is installed in a tensionless state in
the pipe. In the case of a not tensionless installation, the housing of the
measuring instrument can be damaged and water may escape.
The pipeline pressure must not exceed the maximum working pressure
of the meter, as this can lead to leaks and damage of the meter.
3
To prevent the disassembly of the meter we recommend to secure the
connection interface with a safety device (adhesive label, seal, etc.).
All series are not suitable for measuring reverse flow.
Disposal
In order to reduce the amount of waste, old appliances should be reused as
a matter of priority or the waste should be sent for recycling or other forms
of recovery. This is only possible if old appliances, other accessories and
packaging of the products are returned to the manufacturer or handed in at
recycling centres. Our business processes generally provide that we or the
specialist companies we use take old devices including batteries, other ac-
cessories and packaging material back with us after they have been replaced
or at the end of their useful life and dispose of them properly.
Insofar as no other contractual arrangement has been made in this respect,
your local or municipal authority or the local waste disposal company can
give you information relating the collection points for your used equipments.
ZENNER will always ensure correct disposal.
Attention!
Do not dispose of the devices with domestic waste. In this way, you will help
to protect natural resources and to promote the sustainable reuse of material
resources.
