General information, use and operation of CRC2
General information
• Pay special attention to maintaining a comfortable room
temperature above all for children and elderly or handicapped
persons.
• For correct use the conditioner must only operate at the
temperatures indicated in the "Operating Limits" table in the
installation manuals of the outdoor and indoor units.
If the unit is made to operate beyond these limits faults or
water leaks may occur.
• Make sure the Room Controller control unit has not been
damaged in transport; if the opposite is true fi le an immediate
claim with the shipping company.
• Only use the appliance for the purpose it was designed.
• Dispose of packaging material in accordance with local
requirements.
• Do not open the appliance otherwise it may suffer damage. In
case of malfunctioning, contact a qualifi ed service engineer.
Use
Key for selecting the operating mode (key C)
This button allows not only to change from the operating mode
"On" to "Off" (frost protection) but also to select the air conditioner
operating mode. If repeatedly pressed, the available modes are
displayed in the following order:
Cool with dry mode
Dry only
Ventilation (fan only)
Automatic
Heat
At the end of this sequence or 10 seconds after selecting any one
of these operating modes, press the "MODE" selector key to return
to "Off". When this mode is selected, the room temperature is
displayed.
Changing the desired temperature
When the user decides to change the set temperature using the Up
and DOWN buttons, "SET TEMP" is displayed and the two digits
will indicate the new desired temperature.
The temperature set by the user is displayed for a few seconds
together with "SET TEMP", then the room temperature is displayed
again. The set temperature is displayed every time the operating
mode is changed.
Figure A shows two examples: room temperature at 22°C and
temperature setting mode with temperature set at 22°C.
Temperature can be in °C or °F depending on the selection set
during installation when the system operating limits are also set.

Setting the fan mode
The indoor unit ventilation speed can be adjusted by pressing the
FAN key.
With the unit in ON mode, press the fan key to change the speed as
shown below:

In some units, the air fl ow direction can be controlled by means of
special wings known as louvers.
To set their position when the CRC2 is in the On mode, keep the
FAN key pressed for at least 5 seconds:
The present louver selection will be displayed on the CRC2 display.
To change it press the UP or DOWN keys within 10 seconds or
the CRC2 will automatically quit the menu. To confi rm your choice,
press the FAN key.
The CRC2 will quit the confi guration menu. The following values are
shown in table 1.
