Introduction
The O
simulator 82 is used to test the functional integrity of the O
2
and the connecting cable. It simulates a METTER TOLEDO O
Each O
simulator 82 is tested by METTLER TOLEDO prior to delivery.

Operation
Test the function of the transmitter and of the connecting cable with the following
procedures:
a)
Simulator button pressed:
ponds to:
– 67 nA sensor current (polarization voltage -675 mV)
– 50 nA sensor current (polarization voltage -500 mV)
b)
Simulator button released:
The transmitter display must switch to the stable value of 0.0 ± 0.1 in
less than 10 seconds if the transmitter is calibrated to «zero».
If the value does not stabilize within 10 seconds, change the connecting cable
and repeat the test. If the test still shows the same result, the transmitter is defec-
tive.
To identify the correct function of the transmitter calibration procedure, perform an
additional test:
c)
Switch transmitter to «0» or «zero» and set the zero point, if possible.
d)
Select transmitter range for air calibration, do not press simulator button:
The display on the transmitter should remain at the value obtained in
step c).
e)
Press simulator button:
The display on older types of transmitters must be adjustable with
«Balance» or «Slope» in accordance with the instructions of your
transmitter. With recent transmitter models, slope will be calibrated au-
tomatically.
