Clean the air discharge louvers and casing.
Minimum/maximum and/or safety thermostat:
Check the position of thermostat bulb (no metal-on-metal contact with heat exchanger centrally
between elements).
Flue gas fan.
Remove the inspection cover. Check bypass and fan restriction for soot and dust. Remove soot
and dust with a brush. For restriction diameters see [3].
Vee-belt transmission for type G(N)CE.
Check fan wheel(s) and belt tension; clean wheel(s) if necessary. Check belt tension after 20 to 40
hours in operation. Re-tension regularly in the first year of operation [13].
After cleaning the appliance, put it back into operation again as set out in Chapter 3.

5.3 Thermostat combination [9]
A One safety thermostat (STB) order code 31 01 655
A safety thermostat is a thermostat with a fixed setting set above that of the maximum thermostat.
This thermostat switches the appliance off in the event of the maximum thermostat's mechanical
failure and overheating of the appliance. The thermostat should be reset following correction of
the fault after which the appliance will resume operation automatically (if heat is required at that
time). Set point: 110°C
B One minimum thermostat order code 31 01 930
The minimum thermostat is responsible for switching on the fan(s) after a certain amount of
heating-up time. The minimum thermostat is also responsible for post-ventilation, thus expelling all
of the heat present in the heat exchanger. Set point: 30°C.
