Cover a distance in meters equal to the distance indicated on Table
6, column "Linear Distance" counting:
Weigh the seed collected in the trays and multiply the weight
by 100 or 40, depending on the number of rotations made. The
value obtained is the number of kilograms distributed per hectare
(Fig.30).
Verify that the amount of seed obtained by the easy method cor-
responds to the amount of seed obtained from the test with the
machine stationary. Otherwise modify the position of the gear lever
(Fig.26), increasing or decreasing the value as needed (increasing
it distributes more seed, reducing it distributes less).
IMPORTANT: The length of the test run will vary depending on
the working width, such that the product of the width (in m) ´ test
run (in m) is always equal to a surface area of 100 m
a hectare).
4.6 HOPPER AND TANK FILLING
Hoppers and tanks can be fi lled by hand or using a lifter with a
capacity of at least 200 kg, which must be regularly approved by
the relative authorities. Remember that weights of more than 25
kg must either be lifted by more than one operator or the above-
mentioned lifter must be used following the instructions included
in the relative use and maintenance manual.
WARNING
- All fertilizer spreader tank loading and unloading operations
must be carried out with the planting unit at a standstill, on
the ground, with the frame open, with the hand brake on,
with the motor switched off and the starter key removed
from the control panel. Make sure that chemicals are kept
out of harm's way.
- All operations must be carried out by trained staff wearing
suitable protection (overalls, gloves, boots, masks etc) in a
clean, dust-free environment.
Overalls
Gloves
- Load from the outer sides of the machine.
- When fi lling the seed, fertilizer and insecticide hoppers, en-
sure that no foreign bodies (string, paper, etc.) enter them.
- The seeding machine can transport chemical substances.
Do not allow children, people, pets to come near the seeding
machine.
4.7 SEED LEVEL IN THE HOPPER
The level of seed in the hopper can be easily controlled by the ope-
rator from the driver's seat by checking the indicator (Fig. 31).
