Possible Cause

The release valve is not
closed tightly.

Overloaded the jack.

Air is trapped in the
hydraulic system.

Hydraulic oil level is low.

Close the release valve firmly.

Bleed air from the system.

Check the oil filler hole and if
necessary, top off with more
hydraulic oil.
