4. OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT
4.7.3 Chain
If the chain is too long, it will skip between gears, meaning the chain won't be connected to the chain wheel correctly. If this occurs,
the chain should be adjusted right away. To set the correct chain tension: Adjust the front derailleur to the lowest shift (the smallest
tooth of the chain ring) and also adjust the back fender to the lowest shift (the smallest tooth of the flywheel) to check whether
the chain slack is more than 15 mm (as shown). If it is more than 15 mm, the chain is too long. Visit your supplier to have the chain
shortened to ensure your bike's optimal performance.
Tips for using the speed control system
• Do not reverse while changing speed, as this could lead to failure and cause the chain to fall off.
• As much as possible, do not change gears quickly.
You should increase the speed gradually by moving up one gear at a time.
• If the bike isn't used for a long period, the user should set the gears to the smallest
front and rear gears to maintain mechanical flexibility.
• The chain, fluted disc, flywheel, derailleur should be kept clean and lubricated (oiled appropriately).
5. USE AND MAINTENANCE
5.1 Routine inspection before use
1. Install the battery box in the battery box slot, open the power supply switch and check whether
the functions of all the electrical components are normal.
2. Safety inspection (see the notes on safe use in the manual)
3. Check whether the throttle rotates and works correctly.
4. Check whether the braking power-off function and braking work correctly
(braking distance on dry pavement: 4 m, on wet pavement: 15 m)
5.2 Everyday use and inspection of electric bike
With everyday use of the electric bike, the mechanical and electrical parts can become worn, screws and other fasteners can also
come loose, resulting in electrical components falling off. If these occurrences are not noted, the e-bike can stop working, and your
safety can be put at risk when cycling. Therefore, it is important to carry out routine inspection and maintenance of your e-bike.
5.3 Maintenance
To ensure road safety, every so often, check that all the electrical parts are in working order and whether there are any loose wires
and whether mechanical parts are functioning normally. Clean, wipe, oil the chain, fluted disc, flywheel and derailleur regularly
(consult your supplier for the type of oil product to use). This will ensure that all parts are functioning normally.
6. RIDING GUIDANCE
Correct cycling posture is essential for safe riding. The riding posture is closely related to the height and size of the cyclist. Proper
cycling posture not only determines the efficiency of muscle movement, but at the same time determines whether the cyclist can
manipulate the handles and brakes safely.
Safe riding: Adjust the bike's mechanical parts and your posture and ride safely. Cycling is just like buying clothes—you need take
measurements and make adjustments.
• Adjust the position of the seat: Use your heel to push the pedal down and let the muscles in your legs to contract
without forcing them. The legs should be able to bend very slightly.
• Adjust the front, rear and height of the handlebar: the handlebar should be about 30-50mm higher than the seat.
Flat handlebars should be as high as the seat. For handlebars that curve under, the top of it should be as high as the seat.
After adjusting it, ensure the alignment is OK and lock it in place.
• Sitting posture: your weight should be spread over the handle and pedals.
Avoid pushing your weight towards the front of the bike to prevent hip pain.
• Using the pedals: The top third of your foot should be positioned on the middle of the pedal.
Your feet must be parallel with the center line of the bike to ensure optimal efficiency.
You should try to pedal at a uniform speed to avoid fatigue.
• Slowing down: The speed change gear is used to slow down but not to accelerate. It stabilizes the number of revolutions
of the pedal, to relieve fatigue arising from uneven force. You should change gears in order to reduce effort and ride more
comfortably. You should change gears when going up a hill; riding on uneven pavement or against the wind; or when feeling
tired or uncomfortable.
• Braking: As you may be aware, when braking suddenly, you should use the rear brake before using the front brake.
But if you need to do an emergency stop, you can use both brakes at the same time. If the braking distance is adequate,
the bike can stop securely; if you brake too fast, you may be thrown forward. To prevent this, the best way to stop is through
intermittent braking. On rainy days, increase the braking distance and reduce speed in order to stop safely.
