4. OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT
(CONTINUED)
4.5.2 Saddle position
Saddle angle: To avoid leaning forward when riding, the front end of the saddle should be angled upwards.
You can tilt the saddle frontwards or backwards to suit your height.
Minimum height of the saddle: Move the quick release handle to the OPEN position, then put the saddle post to the lowest position.
When the saddle post can no longer enter the saddle tube of the frame, it is at the minimum height of the seat.
Maximum height of the saddle: Move the quick release handle to the OPEN position, then lift the saddle post to the top, ensuring
the safety line is not exposed. This is the maximum height of the saddle.
Measuring method: place the bike perpendicular to the ground. The height of the saddle should be equal to the distance between
the highest part of the curved surface of the saddle and the ground.

4.6 Braking system

The braking system is a necessary component of every bike and the key to road safety; before riding, you must understand your
braking system, and properly carry out inspection and adjustment work. It is a common misconception that if you brake hard, the
bike will stop almost right away, but this is not the case. Upon hard braking, when the wheels are suddenly jammed by the brake
rubber, the bike will skid, and it not only is dangerous but the braking distance will be lengthened. Therefore, the braking system
should be thought of only as a means to adjust the speed of the bike. The braking system typically includes a brake lever, brake (disc
brake, V brake, and many other types of brakes) and brake cable. The structure of the brake lever is as shown in this manual. The left
brake lever controls the rear brake and the right brake lever controls the front brake. The effective stroke of the brake cable is about
a half of the distance between the brake lever and the grip.
Tips for using the braking system:
If the distance between the brake shoe and the rim is too large, it can be adjusted by the brake lever or the clamp. If the brake cable
or brake shoes are seriously worn, they should be replaced right away in order to ensure road safety. When riding on rainy days, the
breaking system will be less effective, so please ensure a longer safe braking distance and reduce your speed. Do not oil the surface
of the brake disc or the brake shoes so as to avoid serious damage. A damaged brake cable is extremely dangerous and should be
replaced right away, as it is at risk of breaking.

4.7 Speed control system

Designed to be used in combination with physical strength, the speed control system takes into account different terrains and high
and low wind conditions. The entire speed control system includes a derailleur, front and back fenders, chain plate, and flywheel and
shift cables. The number of speed change series is the number of fluted discs × the number of flywheel pieces.
For example: three pieces of chain plate × 7 flywheel pieces = 21 speed change series, and so on.
4.7.1 Derailleur
Type of derailleur: dial type (as shown)
The gear shifts are separately positioned on both handles.
The one on the left controls the front derailleur and the one on the right controls
the rear derailleur.

4.7.2 Adjustment of the derailleur

The gear shifts control the front derailleur and back derailleur.
If the shift cables are loose or too tight, the speed controller doesn't work
properly or the chain falls off, the H, L bolt must be adjusted.
H bolt: When the chain speed changes to the biggest fluted disc, the chain will fall off,
and the H bolt will be locked. But if it is too tight, the chain can't climb to the biggest fluted disc.
L bolt: When the chain is toward the inside fluted disc and the chain falls off, the L bolt is locked.
But if it is too tight, the speed can't decrease. Therefore, you must adjust the H,
L bolt to a suitable position.
