MAINTENANCE

Risk of severe injury or death by electrical shock or pressurized fluids.
Always unplug the power cord in addition to removing the fuse or shutting off the circuit breaker before working on the pump or
control.
Relieve system pressure before disassembling device.
This product should be serviced by qualified electrical or plumbing personnel only.
Pump may become hot during operation. Allow pump to cool before servicing.

Periodic Maintenance

1. Make sure the pump is still securely bolted to the foundation.
NOTE: The pump can be maintained and inspected without removing the flow control device.
2. Periodically inspect system for leaks and performance.

3. Clean the exterior of the pump with a solution of vinegar and water, if needed.
4. Clean the exterior of the tank with stainless steel wipes or sprays.
• If using stainless steel sprays, avoid directly spraying the pump motor or electronics.

Checking the Tank Pressure

Check the tank at least once a year to ensure that the pre-charge pressure is within ±2% of 28 psi.
1. Disconnect power to the pump.
2. Open the faucet nearest to the tank and drain the tank until it is empty. Close the faucet.
3. Remove the black valve cover at the front of the tank.
4. Check the pre-charge pressure with a standard tire gauge.
• If necessary, adjust the pre-charge pressure to 2 psi below pump switch cut-in pressure.
5. Restore power to the pump.

Draining

Drain the system if it will be subjected to temperatures below 32 °F (0 °C) or if maintenance is to be
performed.
1. Disconnect power from the system.
2. Open a tap in the water system to release the pressure.
3. Remove the drain and priming plugs from the pump casing.
4. Remove the pressure drain plug if applicable.
5. Remove the pressure tank drain plug.
6. Allow ample time for the system to drain before reinstalling the plugs.

Storage

• Store in a clean, dry location that is temperature controlled.
• If storing for more than 6 months, ensure the location's temperature is between 40 and 120 °F
(5 and 48 °C).
