FITTING
1
Remove the chain from its case and unfold it.
2
Position the chain on the top of the tyre, as shown, pushing it as much as possible against the inner
ank of the wheel.
3
Keep one hand on the red guide as shown. Take the elastic band from the inside with the other hand
and pull it a maximum and as low down as possible.
4
Repeat the operation the other side.
5
Position the elastic band at inside as low and as close to the ground as possible.
6
ATTENTION: Offcentre the chain slightly towards the bottom. The central plate must be in
the lower part of the tyre.
7
Move the vehicle slightly by a ½ a turn of the wheel (the tyres must not slip).
Finish positioning the road contact surface area on the top of the tyre and around the wheel. The
elastic band must be at on the inner ank of the tyre and not twisted.
8 8'
Adjust the position of the chain so that the central plate is positioned in the middle of the tyre.
CHECK: Make sure that the at elastic band and the chain are correctly positioned on the tyre.
9
Check that no part of the chain enters into contact with the mechanical components of the vehicle,
even when turning the wheel completely.
Warning :
For best results, certain tyre sizes may require adjustment to the circumference of the chains. This can
be done by adding tensioners if the chain is too loose (if you can pass your hand between the tyre and
the road-contact surface). The chain should be removed before doing this.
After driving for a short distance (around 50-100 metres), stop the vehicle to check that the chains are still
10
correctly tted to the tyres. If the chain is too loose, add an additional tensioner.
Installation complete... You can now drive in safety. Max speed 50km/h.
Caution: Before leaving the vehicle parked for a long time be sure to remove the chains such that they do
not freeze to the wheels, which will make removing them dif cult.
