1.
Remove taillights: Open trunk and remove access panel to the taillights, remove 3 flange nuts (m8 socket) each side. Note: Recommend removing tie down loop on passenger side
for additional clearance (T40 torx bit). Remove taillight and disconnect wiring.
2.
Fascia removal: From under the vehicle remove 2 bolts (m10 socket) see Figure 2 & 3. Remove 2 bolts (each side)(m10 socket) under vehicle near wheel well. See Figure 2. Remove
3 (each side) plastic rivet in wheel well. Use small screwdriver or plastic trim tool or pliers to remove the center pin, remove remaining body of rivet. Gently pull wheel well trim
from fascia enough to clear where rear fascia and side fascia meet. Remove 1 (each side) rivet under the wheel well cover using the same technique see Figure 4. Remove 1 (each
side) (m8) screws located behind the wheel well covering. See Figure 5.
3.
Fascia removal: Gently pull up from the rear wheel well trim panel each side, unclipping the tabs inside. Work up to taillights and continue to gently remove along plastic taillight
support. Using a small screwdriver or trim tool push down on cleats between the fascia and taillights as needed. Continue to remove along inside bottom to the trunk, lifting fascia
up from bottom as needed. Carefully pulling the fascia away from the vehicle. If present, disconnect any wiring harness or sensor from fascia. If present, remove sensors from fascia
by opening the small square holders, both sides. See Figure 6. Move the fascia cover aside.
4.
Lower exhaust: Un-bolt the exhaust from the bumper attachment using a 12-point 3/8" socket. Both sides.
5.
Remove bumper: Remove the (4) flange nuts (m18 wrench and/or deep well socket) holding the bumper in place, flange nuts to be reused for hitch installation.
6.
Install hitch: Raise the hitch into position as shown (see Figure 1), over the existing stud/bolt on vehicle. Reinstall bumper over hitch and secure with existing flange nuts removed in
step 5.
7.
Tighten all M12 CL10 fasteners with torque wrench to 76 Lb.-Ft. (103 N*M)
8.
Trim or push heat shield: Trim around the hitch as needed or simply push the heat shield forward away from hitch.
9.
Trim kick sensor bracket: Using die grinder, remove area shown in Figure 7.
10. Reinstall exhaust: Reattach the exhaust hangers removed in step 4.
11. Reinstall fascia and electrical, if present: Place sensors back into location on fascia. Starting from the center of the vehicle lineup and gently reinstall the rear fascia and all fasteners
in reverse order steps 2-3. (Note: reattach any wiring hardness if removed).
12. Reinstall taillights: Reinstall the taillights removed in step 1. If needed remove the side cover near the taillights for easier access.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged
should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for
connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
