Automatic Feed for the Cutting Thread
To feed fresh cutting thread run the engine at full throttle and dip
the cutting thread container on the ground. Fresh thread is automat-
ically fed.
The thread cutter on the protective hood automatically cuts the
thread down to the permitted length.
During operation avoid contacting curbs, rocks or other hard objects
because otherwise, the thread may break and the automatic feed
may not work.
Replacing the Cutting Thread
Before undertaking work on the machine detach the driveshaft
from the motor unit or remove the spark plug connector!
1. Dismount the cutting thread container from the machine.
2. Disassemble the cutting thread container by firmly pressing the
locking latch and the sine and turning the container top clockwise.
3. Place a new cutting thread into the thread holder and tightly wind it
counter-clockwise. The spool divider divides both halves of the
cutting thread.
4. Hook the last 15 cm of both thread ends into the notches on both
sides.
5. Guide both ends of the thread through the metal grommets in the
Curring thread container. Reattach the top of the container and
hook it in place by pressing down and turning counter-clockwise
until the container top locks into place. Make sure the button of the
automatic feed can be operated easily and is not jammed.
6. Reattach the cutting thread container to the machine.
Sharpening the Thread Cutter
1. Remove the thread cutter (3) from the protective hood (4).
2. Fasten the cutter in a vice. Sharpen the cutter with a flat file. Make
sure that the angle of the blade is maintained. Only move the file in
one direction during sharpening.
