8. Setup

When choosing a setup location, bear in mind the on-site conditions, e.g. the distance to the next mains
socket.
When choosing a setup location, bear in mind that direct sunlight, vibrations, dust, extreme
temperatures and moisture must be avoided. Do not set up the device in the direct vicinity of
strong transformers or engines.
When setting up the device with other equipment, make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
Keep a sufficient distance to heat sources. Do not set up the device in the direct vicinity of heat
sources such as an amplifier. Do not point any strong beamers or light sources at the device.
This could cause overheating (risk of fire!).
Do not impede the device's heat dissipation. Do not place the device on soft surfaces such
as rugs or beds. Do not cover the device. Do not obstruct air circulation with objects such as
newspapers, tablecloths, curtains or the like. Doing so impedes the device's heat dissipation
and may lead to overheating (fire hazard!).
Operate the device on a stable surface not sensitive to heat.
Make sure the device is set up stably. Falling devices pose a significant safety hazard.
Do not drill or screw any extra screws into the housing for fastening purposes. Doing so poses
a risk of contact with dangerous voltages.
Make sure that the mains cable is not pinched, bent, damaged by sharp edges. Lay the cable so
that no one may trip on or become entangled in it. This poses a risk of injury.
The cable must be of sufficient length. Avoid subjecting the cable to mechanical stress by
pulling. Doing so may damage the cable and/or the device. This poses a risk of fatal electric
shock.
• Heeding the instructions above, set up the device on an even and stable surface.
• Please also make sure that the display is visible when choosing a setup location.
Considering the variety of varnish and polish used on furniture it cannot be ruled out that the feet
of the device leave visible residue on furniture due to chemical reactions. For this reason, do not
set up the device on valuable furniture without suitable protection.
