1. If the risk analysis, conducted before work begins, shows that
the fall edge is particularly 'sharp' (r < 0.5 mm) and/or is 'not burr-
free', (table on page 8, line 7)
- fall over the edge must be prevented using technical or
organisational measures or
- edge protection must be installed and used or
- the manufacturer must be contacted.
2. The PEANUT anchor point must not be below the level of where
the user is standing.
3. The angle of the edge must be at least 90°.
4. To prevent a pendulum fall, the work area and sideways
movement from the central axis must, in all circumstances, be
limited to 1.50m. In any other case, mobile anchor points must
not be used but instead a cable or track system for fall protection,
e.g. EN 795 type C or D.
5. For calculation of the required fall clearance distance (HLi)
beneath the edge, the specifications in 4. and fig. 2 must be
observed.
Note: When used in combination with an EN 795 Type C anchor
device, when calculating the required fall clearance distance HLi
the deflection of this system in the event of a fall must be taken
into account. The information in the corresponding instruction
manual(s) must be observed.
6. Note: In the case of a fall over an edge, there is a risk of injury to
the user due to contact with the building/construction
7. Note: In the event of a fall over the edge, special rescue
measures shall be defined and trained.
