appropriate strength and compatibility and which are labelled as
such. 3kN were established in load tests.
3.3) Injuries as a result of hitting the work platform or the boom
cannot be excluded.
Use on scaffolding: Both versions are suitable for use on
scaffolding (table on page 8, line 11)
The anchor point
• must be sufficiently suitable (verification by the scaffold
manufacturer),
• must be at least 1 m above the work level / standing area
(corresponds to the height of the guard rail),
• must not be exceeded
in order to avoid possible failure of the equipment.
Taking into account the position of the anchor point on the
scaffolding, the required ground clearance below the user must be
determined according to figure 2. Injuries as a result of hitting parts
of the scaffolding cannot be excluded.
Note:
There must exist a plan for rescue procedures.
4.) Use
4.1) Prior to using the device, a functionality test must be carried
out. When doing so, first of all inspect the unit, including the full
length of the retractable lanyard(s).
Also ensure that the the lanyard(s) pull out and retract easily. To
test how effective it is in locking, vigorously pull the line two to three
times to make sure that the device locks. Should you find any type
of fault, the device must be withdrawn from use immediately and
destroyed.
Never allow uncontrolled retraction of the carabiner as this can
damage the recoil spring.
4.2) The maximum force on the structure in the event of a fall is
6 kN.
4.3) Avoid any slack.
4.4) Wherever possible, the anchor point must be perpendicular to
the working position. If the anchor point is below the work area,
there is the danger of hitting structures lower down in the event of
a fall. If the anchor point is at the side, there is the danger of hitting
structures at the side.
4.5 - 4.6) Be aware of loose beam ends.
4.7) Always properly lock the carabiner.
4.8) Do not knot the suspension element.
4.9) Do not use in a choke hitch.
4.10) - 4.11) Locking carabiners and/or connectors must always be
protected against cross-loading and bending under a load.
4.12) The device must only be used when the fall indicator is not
visible i.e. has not been activated through a fall.
